Rock Climbing Social Group at the Boulder Rock Club

I am pleased to offer a group creating meaningful social connection while engaging in Rock Climbing at the Boulder Rock Club. Each block will run for 8 weeks on Thursday evenings from 7-9pm and is open to all skill levels. The target age range is 18-28 but that is a guideline not a rule. If you have interest but this is not your demographic, please email me to see if we have other interest and can run a group in your age range. I will teach the rock climbing basics and each participant will engage to the level they feel most comfortable. The capacity is limited to 10 and the minimum is 5. So, secure your spot, in the next block, as soon as possible.

I will draw from both of my career paths of therapeutic mentoring and professional guiding. I have done both professionally for over 15 years and have run a multitude of groups in therapeutic programs aimed at creating community and positive social connection. I have developed climbing programs for guide services and universities and love to share my passion for safely climbing with others.

The format of this group will be as follows:

  • 7:00-7:30p fit and size harness and shoes and ice breaker/check-in
  • 7:30-8:30p climb in the gym
  • 8:30-9:00p come back together as a group and discuss highs and lows of the climbing session

The cost of the 8 week course will be $600/person and will include gym fees and shoes, harness and belay device rentals. If you would like to meet individually to get one on one instruction prior to the group that can be arranged for an additional fee. I've tried to keep costs low, for example 8 day passes and rentals at the BRC costs $328. My hope is to make this group accessible and bring the right participants together to create lasting connections. If all goes well, by the end of this 8 week course the participants can continue the gym routine without my facilitation. Full payment of $600 is due prior to the start of the block and is nonrefundable. This is intentional to create a commitment to the group and be fair to the other participants.

Please email with any questions. If you'd like to learn more about my background you can check out my bio page or the Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides website.

Let's create community and make friends all while engaging in a fun and beneficial activity. I look forward to hearing from you.
