Throughout his career, he has also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, recovery coaching, executive functioning coaching and positive peer coaching. Through Therapeutic Mentoring Services, Zach has been able to exercise his unique and effective vision to work with individuals and families who are exiting wilderness, residential and hospital settings as well as supporting and intervening with those looking to course correct before entering any of the aforementioned. Zach models an authentic way of living, facilitating a community of trust with both clients and his team. By using a relational approach to help clients achieve their goals and live a life directed by their values, Zach is present for the multitude of his client's and family's transitional experiences.
Zach utilizes the "real world" environment to support and engage his clients. Meetings may be at a client’s home, at a coffee shop, on a hiking trail, at a gym - whatever will best engage the client where they are at and serve to both support and enhance change and motivation toward their goals. Depending on each client’s unique needs and wishes, Zach will offer support throughout various aspects of their lives. This enables clients to carry out responsibilities and reach their goals. For example, Zach might help clients get through the anxiety of attending class or work, growing closer with their families or prioritizing responsibilities and goals. He utilizes active listening to ensure every client feels validated, as well as motivational interviewing to engage his clients and support them in moving forward. Throughout his 15 year career, he has helped people in various stages of life develop healthy routines and good relationships. As clients call upon their mastery, they become better able to face adversity and to maintain their course.
Zach holds great integrity to living a life directed by his values and modeling healthy living through physical, spiritual, and emotional balance. He is an avid fly fisherman, mountain biker, rock climber and loves to travel the world looking for adventure. He can also often be found on the river, walking his talk, boating with his beloved wife, two daughters and two dogs.
